An Insurgent is relieved to be captured by Iraqi police
Ok, so one more Iraqi realizes that it's good for
US to pour billions into their country.
WOO HOO.
It's still a big waste of our
resources and money.
Yeah the dumasses who join the
US military and go over there are "volunteering" there lives for our great
mideast military strategy. Admittedly, that's great for natural selection and
all, but why should I have to pay for it? I could understand if it was an
honest operation, but the only people that benefit from my investment in our
gov'ts involvement there is big business (Halliburton, etc.), and these
politicians who are funded by them. They should be paying for the military's
operating cost, not Joe Taxpayer.
Yeah, it's nice to have presence
over there, but we already have Kuwait, so I don't get that argument either. So,
unless we're going imperial like the Nazi's/Jap's in WWII that's not a good
point. And Iraq was no military or social threat for the region. I can see
how his secular regime posed an easy target, better than ultra-religous
ones nearby. Still, I don't agree with funding big business knocking over
regimes just because they're easy targets (unless Joe Taxpayer gets a cut of the
proceeds, which we don't).
Now, the human rights aspect
(aka project spread freedom and democracy) is garbage as hopefully everyone
knows. They don't give a shit about helping Haiti, they actually overthrew that
democracy. Not to mention these guys are in bed with dictators and
fascists all over the globe, not least of which is the Saudis who generated the
9/11 terrorist plot the Bush and Co. allowed to happen do to negligence or
willful aid.
Well, it's just so frustrating
that people support this bullshit. I can almost see how apathy and willful
ignorance, but to be duped into believing the hype is just too
stupid.
